When to seek help

When should you make an appointment
If you are worried about your fertility or struggling to conceive, consider seeking an appointment to address your concerns.
There are no specific guidelines on when it is best to seek advice, as everyone’s fertility potential is unique.
Generally speaking, you may read that if you are over 35, you shouldn’t wait too long before seeking expert advice, and I would suggest making an appointment if you haven’t achieved pregnancy after about 6 months. I try not to be too prescriptive about these things and generally suggest it is always worth your while to understand where your fertility level is and to be guided in making choices based on that.
I see a very large number of people who, after comprehensive investigations, I may find that there is nothing of concern and suggest couples try to conceive on their own for a period of time. This approach is usually successful, and in many cases, it is just the reassurance and confidence couples need to proceed successfully on their own.
