Egg Donation

Some women may have difficulty conceiving with their own eggs. There are a wide range of reasons as to why this may be the case, but under these circumstances, you may opt to consider using someone else’s eggs. Eggs can either be obtained from someone you know or eggs can be accessed from an egg donation program.

The reasons some people may opt for egg donation can be that menopause has occurred, and the chances of successfully conceiving with or without treatment are exceedingly low. Some women undergo an early menopause, and this can be due to a variety of causes, such as genetic, surgical or medical reasons, just to name a few.

In other instances, you may opt to proceed with egg donation due to repeated unsuccessful IVF cycles or due to advanced maternal age. Some women may opt for donor eggs, wishing to avoid passing on certain underlying genetic issues.
